PLACE International

International Trade increases by 5 to 7 % yearly, as a logical consequence of worldwide trade. It is one of the drivers of the world economy. France carries out 60% of its trade within the European Union, its main partner - Asia is the second with 13% (in growth), Americas are third with 10,3%.

Several actors play a part in an international trade process : the Customs A uthorities, transport providers, logisticians, banks, insurance companies, medical controls, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI). A bundle of forms is to be filled, transferred, validated, which implies high transaction charges, important time spent, and sometimes defective quality due to loss of information.

Asian countries, of which Korea and Taiwan, profit from a long experience as regards dematerialization of documents exchanged between companies : they built a dematerialized system to improve the speed of transactions and to simplify trade documents. Their companies profit from a competitive advantage and they wish their suppliers also use such a system.

The setting up by Paris eCI in Europe, and thus in France, of a system of dematerialization of international trade is a challenge to take up in order to maintain and improve competitiveness in our country
